Rihanna is opening up about her music and her love life inthe August issue of Harper’s Bazaar. And it turns out, she’s actually afraid tofall in love again. Putting the blame on getting hurt in the past, she explainswhy she just can’t seem to let people in for love.
“[I’m] rebellious through my music, through my fashion,tattoos and my hair,” she says. “I have been conservative in my love life… it’spretty much nonexistent. If I come across someone who I find really cool, I’llhang out. But the minute I find that we’re getting too close I just – I don’ tlet people in.”

Continuing her discussion on the topic of love, Rihanna goesinto detail on how the actual feeling of being in love can be scary for herafter what she’s been through. “When I was in love, I fell so hard. I wasreally, really, really in love,” she says. “The way it made me feel waspriceless. And in a blink of an eye my whole life changed. Everything that Iknew was different. I never thought I’d feel that pain in my life. I’m afraidof feeling that again.”
Speaking of the past, when she jumped at working with exChris Brown, who assaulted her back in 2009, on not one but two remixes,Rihanna definitely felt the heat from some fans and listeners. “I understoodthat people had every right to be concerned about it,” she says. “But I didn’tsee it that way because I’m in a different place.”
