Slow On the Uptake Much? Madonna Sued Over 'Vogue' 22 Years Later!

We've heard of delayed reactions, but this is ridiculous!

A record company named VMG Salsoul has filed a lawsuit against Madonna, claiming the Material Girl sampled horns and strings from their 1977 dance song Chicago Bus Stop (Ooh, I Love It) without permission and put them into her classic hit Vogue. According to TMZ, the lawsuit says she's been illegally profiting off the instrumentals for 22 years and now they want a piece of the pie.

So the obvious question: what the hell took them so long to file a lawsuit?! VMG Salsoul said they weren't even aware of the sampling until recently due to new technology that can help isolate and identify individual sounds. Um, they needed special technology to help identify their own music?!

The good news for Madonna fans is that there's likely a statute of limitations on lawsuits like these which will lead to the case being thrown out. Although we think it's pretty funny that Madonna is being sued for sampling when she keeps calling Lady Gaga out on allegedly ripping off her music.

if you have to use technology to realize it was sampled, then you don't have a case. that is so dumb.

definitely throw that claim out. 22 years? and you need a device to detect that your music was "stolen"? come on, if that's the case then i bet that machine will "Detect" a whole lot more scammers
