Gale Hawthorne - Gale is said to be quite the catch in District 12, with his olive skin, dark grey eyes and tall stature. Katniss and Gale have really strong bonds that would support an everlasting relationship between the two. For one, both of their fathers died in the same coal mining accident leaving both first-borns to fend for their families livelihood. They both have a knack for hunting, which is where they first meet and eventually become best friends. Although Katniss doesn't quite believe it, Gale has fallen in love with her over the years and tries to tell her the day of the Reaping.

Peeta Mellark - Peet confessed that he has been in love with Katniss since he was just five years old. He played a very important role in Katniss' life by intentionally burning a loaf of bread. He gave new hope to Katniss' desperate life and it isn't until the Hunger Games that we learn just how deep his love for her goes. His entry into the Hunger Games leaves him with two goals: to be more than just another player in the Capitol's Games and to protect Katniss from the other tributes. During the games, Peeta's love grows ever stronger for Katniss, even after she reveals that most of her actions were played out for the cameras. It isn't until Katniss actually loses Peeta to the Capitol's torturous brainwashing that Katniss realizes that she too feels for Peeta.
