Liz Olsen may not be vying for the role of Anastasia Steele, but she certainly has a compelling theory about the 50 Shades of Gray phenomenon. She thinks women are so crazy about it because they don't watch enough porn.

In an interview with Bullett, Liz adamantly denied that she's contending to play Ana. In fact, she said "No! No! No!"...so I think we have to let go of that casting rumor. But she did have some interesting thoughts on the book (even though she hasn't read it yet).

Elizabeth Olsen in a peacoatLiz praised the book, saying, "It's had a huge impact on society. Apparently rope sales have skyrocketed because women who've read the book are really getting into bondage, which is kind of great. It's such a taboo for women to actually discuss sexuality without the help of Cosmopolitan."

And she had an interesting idea as to why this book is so crazy-popular. Liz said, "All of a sudden, this book has become a sensation because the women reading it haven't had access to this kind of thing before. I was talking to a guy who was making a joke about it, saying, 'Clearly, these women just need to watch porn'. In a way, he's right."

Kind of legit theory, right? The book HAS been called Housewife Porn, after all.  I love that Liz isn't afraid to speak honestly and bluntly about things like, you know, bondage and porn. High five, Liz. You're awesome. Bummed you're not playing Anastasia.

So tell us... do you think women who read 50 Shades should be watching more porn?
