The late, great Heath Ledger blew everyone's mind with his hauntin, complex embodiment of The Joker in The Dark Knight. So much so that it earned him a posthumous Oscar win for Best Supporting Actor. And it was always a mystery how Heath created that creepy character. Until now.

Watch this video of music legend Tom Waits from a 1979 Australian TV interview and prepare for your jaw to hit the floor. His voice, speech patterns, mannerisms and even his posture are an UNCANNILY like that of Heath's Joker.

Okay, enough reading, more watching (skip ahead to the 1:00 mark if you're in a hurry).

Right?? I know. I know. I'm blown away too. It's okay. We all are. It's just a shame to think how no one can ever ask Heath about this now that it's been discovered. Makes us miss him even more. But it's always nice to get a glimpse into his process. He was one of the greats. So clearly it makes sense that he would mimic another great artist -- just in another field.

Do you think Heath imitated Tom or is it just a cosmic coincidence??
