Alright, ladies, in case you haven't noticed -- wearing your hair in a high bun has become much more than just a messy workout hairstyle these days with the popularity of the "top knot!"
The hairstyle has become a fad this summer, but it's a very easy one to mess up, so we're breaking down when the top knot totally works... and totally does not. Check out some of these different high hairstyles and let us know who you think looks chic and who needs to hire a new hairstylist!
With all that hair, how can a Kardashian not rock the top knot?! Kim knows how to make it super chic and elegant while heading to an appearance (left), while also loosening it up a bit (right) for a more casual date with Kanye West.
Not to be outdone by her little sis, Kourtney proves she, too, can pull off the high bun! Of the two, I must say Kourtney has a slight edge -- she's been rockin' it for what seems like forever on the Kardashian reality shows!
Miley wore her signature bun all summer before chopping her hair off, but I'm going to go 50-50 on this one. Yes, her hair looks great for leaving pilates class (above), but would she be able to rock that on a red carpet? We might be venturing into messy bun territory just a bit on this one, but props to Miley on rocking a hairstyle that has it's own Twitter account!
Some days ya got it... some days ya don't! Jennifer's hair looks chic/amazing/elegant/perfect (get my point?) at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party (left) with her gigantic top knot, but she can't quite rock the casual bun (right) as well as Kim.
It was a good effort, Vanessa, but please invest in some hairspray before trying out this tricky 'do next time! Too many flyaways and out-of-place strands keep this from making our list of 'chic' top knots.
Who do you think wore the top knot best?!
