If it feels like Hilary Duff has been around in the business forever, that's because she is. The actress-singer celebrates her 25th birthday today, but it's been over 11 years since she was first thrust into the spotlight on Lizzie McGuire (and with that stat, we feel really old now).

And despite recently giving birth to her first child, it looks like we'll be seeing more of her soon. Hilary announced last month that she signed a development deal for a show with 20th Century Fox! 1. Chicago Hope (2000)

Even before Hilary first made it back as Lizzie McGuire, she had made a few appearances on the small screen. Her most noticeable role pre-Disney surge was as a terminally ill child on the final season of CBS show Chicago Hope.

2. Lizzie McGuire (2001-2004)

The show that made her famous! Lizzie McGuire spawned 65 episodes, a feature movie in 2003 and over $100 MILLION in merchandise sales, making Hilary one of the wealthiest teenagers in the world.

3. Hilary's scandalous romance with Aaron Carter (2001-2003)

Even before her 18th birthday, Hilary was caught up in a scandalous romance with then-teen icon Aaron Carter. The pair dated on and off for three years, during which Aaron left Hilary for Lindsay Lohan and then made the switch back to Ms. Duff! The fight over Aaron created a reported tiff between the two actresses, but they've since patched things up and Lindsay even accepted an invitation to attend a party celebrating the release of Hilary's 2007 album Dignity.

4. Agent Cody Banks (2003)

Naturally, Hilary gave the big screen a try after all her small screen success. Her first role came co-starring with Frankie Muniz in the kid flick Agent Cody Banks. However, her movie career never took off and she was nominated for worst actress at the Razzies in a whopping FIVE movies over a three-year period, including A Cinderella Story (2004) and Material Girls (2006) Luckily, she never took home the award.

5. Hilary begins a music career (2003)

Before Miley Cyrus went from Disney to platinum albums, Hilary did it first. Her 2003 album Metamorphosis reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts and sold over five million albums. Her 2004 album Hilary Duff and 2007 album Dignity also did well on the charts, but each album sold less than the previous

6. The questionably legal romance with Good Charlotte's Joel Madden (2004-2006)

In 2004, 16-year-old Hilary began dating 25-year-old Joel Madden of Good Charlotte. After much speculation, her mother confirmed the relationship to Seventeen Magazine in June 2005. After national outrage and questions over whether Joel could be charged with statuatory rape, he went on the record that he never had intercourse with Hilary. They eventually broke up in November 2006.

7. Hilary's sexy photoshoot with Maxim (2007)

What better way to proclaim "I'm not a child actor anymore" than a sexy photo shoot?! Hilary stripped down for Maxim in 2007 and ended up at #23 on their annual Hot 100 Women list that year.

8. Hilary gets engaged (2010)

Hilary finally enjoyed a tabloid and paparazzi free romance when she got engaged in 2010 to Mike Comrie, a former NHL hockey player. They were wed in August of that year

9. Hilary has her first baby (2012)

On March 20, 2012, Hilary gave birth to their first child, a son named Luca Cruz Comrie.
