We know that Tom Cruise is dependent on scientology, but this is a little ridiculous.

The upcoming issue of Vanity Fair is reporting that before Tom married Katie Holmes, the Church of Scientology allegedly put together a month-long, "top secret" process of auditioning actresses to play the role of Tom's girlfriend back in November 2004. Nazanin Boniadi was the Scientology actress who won that privilege, but was told by the Church to "lose her braces, her red highlights and her boyfriend" beforehand. She even told Vanity Fair that she thought the set-up was heading towards an arranged marriage!

Nazanin said that Tom was overbearing and complained to her that "I get more love from an extra than I get from you," When she broke down and revealed her relationship with Tom to a friend, a violation of her confidentiality agreement with the Church, she claims they punished her through hard labor such as "scrubbing toilets with a toothbrush, cleaning tiles with acid and digging ditches in the middle of the night." Just three months after they started dating, Tom reportedly dumped her for Katie because he wanted someone with her own power, similar to what he had with ex-wife Nicole Kidman.

The Church vehemently denied Nazanin's claims of punishment and a recruiting process to Vanity Fair, but declined to comment further. These days, Nazanin is a spokesperson for Amnesty International and no longer involved with the Church. The accusations would seem like something out of the National Enquirer in almost any other situation, but considering that it's Scientology, we actually do have to wonder.

Do you believe Nazanin's accusations?
