Sure, there are a few singing competition shows out there these days – American Idol, The Voice, Duets. But the one that has everyone talking is season two of The X Factor! With Britney Spears and Demi Lovato joining the rounds this year, some of the most talented performers are coming out to show their stuff.

13-year-old Carly Rose Sonenclar blew the judges away with her rendition of Feelin’ Good that left even Simon impressed. And just to recap, Britney even called her a “little diva!” Yeah, she’s THAT good. We chatted with Carly exclusively about her X Factor audition, hearing praise from Simon and the gang and some of her biggest musical influences!

Hearing nothing but positive words from Simon, LA, Britney and Demi has to be the best feeling, right? “That felt amazing, it felt like I wasn’t there,” Carly said. “I watched The X Factor last season and I remembering seeing those people get those types of comments and thinking ‘I wish I was up there.’ So being in front of them was an awesome experience – it was crazy!”

Getting her start on Broadway when she was seven, Carly has the total package. When talking about making her way back to the stage, she said, “I think right now I’m kind of focusing on trying to purse this whole pop star thing and really make it in the industry rather than Broadway. I’m lucky to have done that but I think I have to try and focus.”

Since there are so many pop stars trying to become the “next big thing,” Carly knows she needs something that will set her apart from the others. For that, she turns to one of her biggest influences -- Bruno Mars. “He’s the male version of what I see myself doing,” she said. “He kind of brings that soulful aspect to music while being one of the big pop artists right now on the top 40 charts, which is where I obviously want to be.” Get ready, America! This little “diva” is ready to take over!
