Most people shell out a ton of money on their wedding photos. But when you’re a big-time star like Anne Hathaway, you can make a pretty penny off of pictures of your nuptials.
The recent Catwoman has decided to give it all back, donating the proceeds to a cause close to her heart — Freedom To Marry, her latest show of support for the gay community. She's hoping it will help others enjoy the same rights she did at her own wedding!
Anne has been a celebrity champion of the gay community since 2008, when she gave a speech in support of her gay brother Michael as recipient of the Human Rights Campaign's Ally Award.
"I don't consider myself just an ally to the LGBT community," she said. "I consider myself your family. And so, I'm doing what we should all do with our families — I'm loving you, I support you, I completely accept you as you are, as I hope you do me, and if anyone ever tries to hurt you, I'm going to give them hell."
She and her family also left the Catholic church because of their intolerant beliefs on homosexuality.
Anne married Adam Shulman in Big Sur, California last month, and now will divvy up earnings from her wedding photos to a number of charitable organizations, also including the American Cancer Society and St. Jude’s. She has helped raise funds for Freedom To Marry prior to this donation already.
