Natina Reed, part of the ‘90s R&B group Blaque whose single Bring It All To Me reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2000, died last Friday night in Georgia after being struck by a car. She was 32 years old.
A press release stated that Reed “was in the roadway on Lawrenceville Highway Road near Hamilton when struck.” The driver of the vehicle called 911 immediately after the incident, but Reed was pronounced dead at Gwinnett Medical Center 29 minutes later. She is survived by her 10-year-old son Tren Brown, according to TMZ.
The group's 1999 single 808 also reached No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. In addition to her time with Blaque, she appeared in the 2000 film Bring It On, which grossed over $90 million and reached No. 1 at the box office. Reed was a protege of the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, one of the original members of TLC.
Although the investigation into the crash going, police said at this time the driver “was determined to be not at fault and there are no charges pending. Our condolences go out to Reed’s family and friends at this time.
