It's been a whirlwind year for Demi Lovato, in the best way possible, and while she continues to make a comeback, it's pretty evident that her past troubles are always going to haunt her.
Take, for instance, the fact that it's been two years since she left tour to check into rehab, yet it's still something she still consistently talks about in interviews. In a recent chat withTeen Vogue, Demi reveals that one of the biggest changes she made after leaving rehab wasn't necessarily involving herself, but rather, the people she surrounded herself with. "I did kind of a friend cleanse right after rehab, where I weeded out people who didn't have my best interests at heart. Now, I have friends who love me for who I am and don't care about what I'm doing."
Of course, the "boyfriend" question came up in the interview, specifically targeting Demi's rumored relationship with One Direction's Niall Horan, which she's been denying for months. "He's a really awesome, sweet guy, but he's not my boyfriend. I'm in a place right now where I really need to focus on myself," she explains, adding that she needs to get used to being alone first before she can let herself fall in love again.
Demi also shares that she felt it was a "no-brainer" to say "YES!" to judging on The X-Factor when she got a call from Simon Cowell. She says that her main objective when mentoring contestants on the show wasn't just to make them better singers, but to also "mentally prepare" them for the aspects of the industry she may not have been so ready for. 'Atta girl, Dem!
When do you think Demi will date again? More importantly -- WHO?!
