Here are two ways to know you've truly made it in the business: Weird Al Yankovic parodies one of your songs and you get a chance to collaborate with the pop princess of 2012.
Owl City has managed to accomplish both of those things. The one-man band led by Adam Young reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 back in 2009 with the song Fireflies, prompting Weird Al to parody it on his record. And with Owl City's most recent album The Midsummer Station hitting stores last August, he's got another top 10 hit under his belt with the Carly Rae Jepsen collaboration Good Time peaking at No. 8. Hollywire's own Chelsea Briggs put him in the hot seat and got him to talk about his crush on Taylor Swift!
"We had a Valentine's Day moment," said Adam. "I love how she processes life by writing albums and music and she puts people's first names as a way of dealing. That, to me, is the best way to deal with life."
Adam also talked how he handles slightly crazed fans throwing their bras at him on stage. "I don't know what to do," he admitted. "Do I shoot it like a slingshot back into the crowd...do I write my phone number on it and send it back?" Be sure to also check out our exclusive interview below with Adam, where he talks about how he met Carly Rae for the first time, touring behind Owl City's latest album and whether he'll move out of his small Minnesota town.
