The Green Mile actor married Courtney last year when she was 16 (with her mother's consent) and they are now touting their effed-up relationship on VH1 reality show Couples Therapy. While promoting the show on Access Hollywood Live, co-host Billy Bush finally said to Doug what we've all been thinking. "People are going to think you're a pedophile and a pervert for meeting this girl on the internet. And they're not that far off. Your career is over, you know," he said.
One person (kinda-sorta) came to their defense: Couples Therapy therapist Dr. Jenn Berman. She said that after working with them, she does not believe Doug is a predator or specifically targets underage girls. "We've spoken openly and I've told them I don't approve of the timing of the marriage, but this is not a publicity stunt on their part. This is a real marriage," said Jenn. "As a therapist, I have to work everyday with people who might have different morals, different values, different religions. This is a legally married couple who came to me and said they have issues they needed my help in working on."
So far, they've been the most hated couple on the Couples Therapy cast due to Courtney's refusal to fully open up to the group, her scantily clad outfits and admission that she sometimes accidentally refers to her husband as "dad." Check out their interview below!
