After 10 weeks of sweat, tears and sparkles, we finally have a new champion for this season of Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars!
The 15th season of the show came down to reality star/former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani, former US gymnast Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough, and General Hospital actress Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy. But after a two-part finale in which each remaining team had to put together three dances, a decision was made on who would take home the coveted Mirror Ball trophy.
In the end, Melissa and Tony scored 88.5 out of 90, including two perfect scores in three of their dances, to become the champions! "We just wanted to do our best and leave some kind of impression, but never thought that we'd be the champions, never thought we'd be the last ones standing," said Melissa, according to US Magazine. "Once this dies down, I'm going to look back and reflect on what we've done because it feels pretty incredible."
Tony has been on the show all 15 seasons, but this is the first time he's walked away as a winner. Call it karmatic justice for being stuck with Kate Gosselin for an entire season. "I've paid my dues, but it was worth 14 seasons to get someone like Melissa," said Tony. "It was worth it for this moment, this unbelievable moment, this incredible ride. All the stars have to align sometimes and tonight they did!"
Were you happy with the end result last night?
