When the First Lady personally requests you to perform for her daughters, you kinda have to do it, don’t you?
Even if you’re not actually a citizen of the United States?
Now, if most mothers requested a private concert at their residence from the most popular boy band of the moment, they’d obviously be laughed at. However, we have a feeling 1D will honor the request.

On the one hand, it’s an honor to be asked to perform at the White House, particularly for such young performers. But on the other hand, isn’t it a little presumptuous to use the president’s influence to gift your daughters a concert that every other 11- and 14-year-old would sell their firstborn child for?
One might say that getting to live in the White House for four more years might have been “thanks” enough. Regardless, we'll see if One Direction decides to take Michelle up on the offer. (But how do you say "no" to that?)
