If you want to be an international model, you need to have good genes (and jeans) and it seems that Anna Nicole Smith's daughter has both.
Dannielynn Birkhead, the six-year-old daughter of the late model who passed away in 2007, will be a new face for the company that launched her mother's career in the '90s. Guess has signed Dannielynn for a campaign that will launch in January, making this the first mother-daughter duo ever to model for the denim company. Her father, Larry Birkhead, said her participation in the shoot for the children's version of the line was a "tribute to her mom," according to the New York Daily News.
However, Larry made it clear that the modeling campaign was a one-off deal and not a career path. He also stressed that any money made from the shoot went directly into a fund for Dannielynn. "People have said she's already stepping into her mom's shoes and that's very broad," he said. "I want to be clear this was just a tribute. She's still a kid at heart and she's going to stay that way as long as possible."
Prior to this, Larry had done a very good job keeping Dannielynn out of the spotlight. But with that said, having your daughter enter the career that ultimately led to her mother's fame and destruction is pretty messed up even as a one-time thing. Let's hope everyone involved has her best interests at heart.
