The cast of the upcoming buzzed-about musical Les Miserables  walked the carpet for the world premiere in a very cold London last Wednesday night. Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and more posed for photos together and promoted the film that Anne called a “dream job.”

Wearing a white, pearl-studded Givenchy gown, Anne described that she would have done anything for her role of Fantine in the film. “It’s the sort of job you should give your paycheck back for,” she said. Now that’s love and dedication!

To prove how dedicated Anne was to the role, she dropped 25 pounds and chopped off her hair to play Fantine, a sick mother who is forced into the world of prostitution in 1800s Paris to take care of her children.

Talking about her weight loss, she said, “I had to be obsessive about it – the idea was to look near death. Looking back on the whole experience – and I don’t judge it in any way – it was definitely a little nuts. It was definitely a break with reality, but I think that’s who Fantine is anyway.”

You can catch Les Miserables when it hits theaters December 25th. Plus, I’m sure we’ll be hearing plenty more when Oscar season rolls around!
