Justin Bieber may not be including the Philippines on any of his future world tours.
The singer finally found a way to cater to the straight male demographic by posting photoshopped images of Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao, who was knocked unconscious during a fight last month. One of them included Simba from The Lion King placed on top of the unconscious Manny with the caption "Dad, wake up!"
The problem is that Manny practically considered a God in the Philippines and congress members have held talks about banning him from the country, according to Eurosport UK!
Pretty harmless photo, right? Not if you live in the Philippines. Manny released a statement saying that he would pray for Justin, while seven congressmen released a collective statement to express their outrage. “Mr. Bieber should have known that the Hon. Pacquiao has reached his stature as such as a result of sheer hard work, determination and firm belief in God, and despite such stature best exemplifies humility and grace even in defeat,” they wrote.
They also demanded an apology from Justin for his “distasteful comments … lest he be declared persona non grata.” If Biebs is banned there, he would join Alec Baldwin as the second celebrity to not be welcomed in the Philippines.
We'd have to do a little research, but this might be the first time an Instagram photo has gotten someone banned from a country!
Do you think Justin should apologize?
