Forget Christmas tree lightings and cookie decorating. In Hollywood, we rock around the stage at KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball 2012 two-night event at Nokia’s L.A. Live! Stars like Taylor Swift, Ellie Goulding, The Jonas Brothers and more all took the stage to get into the Christmas spirit last weekend.

Chelsea Briggs chatted with Saturday night performer Ne-Yo right before he took the stage. He dished the success of his album R.E.D., his favorite Christmas memories and being a good role model for his daughter!

Being a father in the music industry puts things into perspective when it comes to what you and shouldn’t say and that’s something that has influenced Ne-Yo’s music. “It definitely makes me make sure that the things that I say are things she can actually listen too,” he said. “I’m 33 years-old so there are some songs that cater to my adult fans, but on the other side of that, there’s always a way to say it so everybody can understand.”

Ne-Yo should probably win Father of the Year. Just sayin.'
