Apparently, The CW missed the theme of The Hunger Games completely.
Suzanne Collins’ book series was an allegory for our reality TV-saturated media and the shocking lengths it will go to for the sake of a juicy story. Now, in a nice case of reality-TV-imitating-art-imitating-life, The CW is announcing its own Hunger Games-style reality show.
Okay, first off, the obvious question ― no, contestants will not compete to the death. In The Hunt, the competitors (AKA, tributes) will be dropped off in a location (an arena, if you will) minus food, shelter, and clothing. Over the course of a month, they’ll need to hunt and use their survival skills to get by, while also trying to capture each other.
Yes, capture.
All for a nice cash prize!

We suppose something along these lines was inevitable. It’s not all that different from Survivor, minus the capturing angle, but does The CW seriously think this is a good idea? The Hunger Games is popular because the audience is on Katniss’ side. Viewers of the Games in the Capitol are the bad guys.
The CW may want to reread Mockingjay ― since this didn’t turn out too well for the guys in charge that time.
Will you watch The Hunt?
