It's the answer we've been waiting six whole years for!

Monday night's series finale of Gossip Girl left viewers on the edge of our seats, awaiting the reveal of the mysterious (and mischevious) blogger Gossip Girl's real identity. Of course, the storyline took several twists and turns before Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) finally handed over his research to Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) for publication.

So, who did Dan unveil as the Upper East Side's sneakiest gossip queen? Well, actually -- himself!

Yep, that's right, Brooklyn's own "Lonely Boy" has been the one scheming all along, in an attempt to get himself known by the elite crowd of his high school. And hey, it worked... albeit with some mishaps along the way!

Dan revealed that, as an outsider, he spent years observing the banter and lingo used by the Upper East Side's socialites, so he was able to create a voice far different than his own for the site (well, hello -- he is a writer)! He brought attention to himself immediately through his relationship with Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively), finally making Dan Humphrey a well-known name in Manhattan. He also explained that by the time the gang separated for college, he'd already had so many tips coming in from various readers that he was able to keep the site going.

So... how did his friends feel about the big reveal? Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) was not too happy (considering GG "ruined her life"), until Serena stepped in and explained that they wouldn't all be where they were today (finally happy) without Gossip Girl, and Chuck (Ed Westwick) reassured her that Dan did shut the site down after their car accident. Oh, and Dan's dad Rufus Humphrey wasn't too pleased about how Dan portrayed his little sis Jenny (Taylor Momsen) on his catty website, but Dan assured him that Jenny had actually known of his identity for quite a while, and that airing out her dirty laundry on Gossip Girl actually helped Jenny achieve her ultimate goal -- getting the hell outta New York City!

Six years later, the show came totally full circle, ending with an intimate wedding for Serena and Dan in a flash-forward "five years later" scene. But don't worry, Chair-lovers -- Chuck and Blair also tied the knot, and we even saw their adorable son Henry! Overall -- a satisfying and happy ending for longtime viewers of the show!
