Barack Obama's inauguration wasn't a happy occasion for everyone.

The View creator and co-host Barbara Walters took a nasty fall at an inauguration party last night and hit her head on a concrete step. She was admitted to the hospital with a cut on her forehead and there's no word as to when she will be released.

The good news is that the hospital visit was done "out of an abundance of caution" on her part and she is already chatting with hospital staff. "[She's alert and] telling everyone what to do, which we all take as a very positive sign," said ABC News spokesman Jeffrey Schneider.

This isn't the first health scare that the 83-year-old has had in recent years: she had heart surgery in May 2010 and was out of action for four months.
