Mark Salling is promising to defend himself “vigorously” against accusations of sexual battery by an ex-girlfriend last month.

While walking the carpet at the 2013 SAG Awards last Sunday, the Glee star opened up to E! News about the charges that he forced Roxanne Gorzela to have sex without a condom and later allegedly grabbed her and pushed her to the ground, causing her to hit her head.

"You hear about fraudulent lawsuits all the time, [but] ’til it happens to you, you really don’t grasp what it does, not to just you but your family," he said. "You want the legal process to happen as fast as possible, but it takes time. I want the chance to defend myself — and I will, vigorously.”

Roxanne claims that the incident happened back in March 2011 and when she confronted Mark a month later over emotional distress and “health concerns,” she found him in bed with another woman. She then demanded he take a STD test and she claims that Mark then grabbed her and pushed her to the ground, leaving bruises on her thighs and knees. She then filed a police report with the LAPD.

Mark’s rep has denied the claims since the beginning, telling TMZ, “It’s the textbook case of a disgruntled girl looking to cash in on a TV star’s success. We turn the rest over to Mark’s attorneys and have no further comment.”

Do you think there’s any truth to these charges against Mark or is this just a classic case of someone trying to get money?
