The Honey Boo Boo clan might be smarter than we're giving them credit for.

Family matriarch Mama June recently revealed that despite the reported $15,000 to $20,000 they receive per episode from the show, their budget at home is still extremely modest. That's because the bulk of the money is going into trust funds that are being distributed equally among her five children.

Honey Boo Boo and the rest of the girls will not be able to touch the money until they turn 21, unless it's for a medical emergency or school. "I want my kids to look back and say, 'Mama played it smart. Not like those other reality TV people,'" she said to TMZ. "TLC puts the money into the girls' trust accounts for me and then I get an email telling me how much everyone gets."

For now, they're living almost entirely off her husband's income as a contractor. The only splurge the family has made since their reality TV fame is a Ford Expedition -- from 2005.
