We're used to plenty of outrageous things coming out of Howard Stern's mouth, but here's one thing he recently uttered that was truly shocking: an apology!

Last week, the shock jock and judge on America's Got Talent called Girls actress Lena Dunham "a little fat girl who kind of looks like Jonah Hill" and "such a camera hog that the other characters are barely on." But he took to his satellite radio show yesterday and offered an on-air apology to the actress.

"I felt bad because I do love the show and it makes me feel bad that she is getting the impression that I somehow think she's just a talentless little fat chick," said Howard. "This show's really, really funny. I like it."

Meanwhile, it seems that not only was Lena unfazed by the comments, she took being bashed by Howard as a badge of honor. "I'm a Howard Stern fan and I really think that he has earned the right to free speech and he should just go for it," she said last week on the Late Show With David Letterman. "But he did say something that I thought was so funny that I want to get on my gravestone, where he said, 'Congrats to her, it's so hard for little fat chicks go get anything going these days.' And it put me in the best mood!"

We have a feeling that Lena will likely be a guest on his show before the year is out.
