Jasmine Villegas, also known as Jasmine V, has been the envy of teenage girls ever since she played Justin Bieber’s love interest in his “Baby” music video back in 2010. Fast forward three years and she’s now a role model for girls, thanks to her very open and personal song and video for “Didn’t Mean It.”

Chelsea Briggs got the chance to chat it up with Jasmine on the windy Hollywire rooftop, putting her in the Hollywire Hot Seat to get the hard-hitting questions out. We’re talking her celebrity crush, her hidden talent (that one might make you squirm) and her biggest insecurity.

Gearing up for the release of her single “Paint a Smile,” Jasmine explains how it’s a continuation from her domestic violence video “Didn’t Mean It”: “It’s about getting over my past and moving on, but still being reminded by it and still get through the hard times,” she explained.

Having gone through domestic violence personally, Jasmine knows that her fans turn to her because her music has helped them get through difficult times. While working on her debut album currently, that’s one aspect of her music she promises won’t go away. “I just want to be the voice for young girls and to say, ‘It’s okay. You’re not alone. It’s okay to say no.’”

Make sure to check out “Paint a Smile” when it drops January 22nd and stay tuned for even more news on Jasmine V!
