Baz Luhrmann’s film adaption of The Great Gatsby is one of the most buzzed about films of 2013, especially since it was pushed back from its initia l December 25th release. But here’s another reason why this movie is totally going to rock –- Jay-Z is co-writing the original score for the film!

Thanks to Jay’s right-hand man, producer-songwriter The Bullitts, the world found out about his latest project when the news was spilled via Twitter.

Considering that Jay and Kanye West’s collab "No Church in the Wild" is already featured in the trailer, having Jay work on the score makes sense. But the film must have needed more work than we thought if they’re still figuring out the music when it was originally supposed to be in theaters a week ago. But hey, there’s nothing wrong with being a perfectionist. It’s worked out for Baz in the past!

The Great Gatsby hits theaters on May 10th!
