Rihanna is one of today's biggest stars in music, but it's her personal life that really has people talking. Of course, when you get back together with your abusive ex-boyfriend... what can you expect, really?
Golden Globe-winner Lena Dunham is the latest celebrity to criticize RiRi for reconciling with Chris Brown, and she did it publicly, during a podcast radio interview with Alec Baldwin. "I don't want to ever throw stones from my glass house, but I follow [Rihanna] on Instagram and I just think about how many little girls beyond what I could even comprehend are obsessed with Rihanna," Lena explains, regarding why she's so critical of the pop star.
"She had this amazing career, she won a Grammy. She's talented," the Girls star continues. "And then she gets back together with Chris Brown and posts a million pictures of them smoking marijuana together on a bed. And it cracks my heart in a way that makes me feel like I'm 95 years old."
Of course, Lena's show Girls isn't exactly "role model" material for younger girls either, with scenes involving sex, drugs and profanity, but she says in terms of her real life, she's learned to tone it down. "I've had to become more conscious about what I say and what I promote," she says. "Not in a way that stifles me, but in a way where I realize there are 17-year-old girls who come up to me and tell me that the show means a lot to them."
