Britney Spears is taking matters into her own hands!

In order to avoid being fired from her gig as a celebrity judge for The X-Factor, Britney is quitting the show herself in order to focus on music, according to TMZ.

Although Brit made $15 million for judging the show last season, the site's source says that she is hard at work on her 8th studio album, and putting serious consideration into touring once it is complete (well, okay... that's pretty awesome)!

"Britney loves Simon, she likes Demi Lovato, but her thing is music," the source explains. This news comes after L.A.Reid, one of Britney's fellow judges, already announced he will not be returning for Season Three, leaving Simon Cowell alone with his X-Factor rival Demi. However, when reports surfaced that Simon would be firing Brit before next season, there were also rumors about Demi getting the boot as well.

Hopefully the show can find a judge that will do more than say, "I thought that was amazing" after every performance now that Britney is officially out...
