The "We Found Love" singer gets pretty candid about her love life in new interview with Rolling Stone, and admits she's putting herself and not the public first. "I decided it was more important for me to be happy," she says. "I wasn't going to let anyone's opinion get in the way of that. Even if it's a mistake, it's my mistake."
RiRi also explains that she's developed some thick skin from all the criticism over the years, and says it's just not worth it anymore. "After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I'd rather just live my truth and take the backlash," she reveals. "I can handle it."
Plus, she says it helps that what the public doesn't see is how much has changed concerning her relationship with Chris this time around. "It's different now," she admits. "We don't have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about s**t. We value each other. We know exactly what we have now and we don't want to lose that."
Most importantly, Rihanna makes it clear that after her physical altercation with Chris before the 2009 Grammy Awards, he knows he has a lot to prove this time around. "He doesn't have the luxury of f---ing up again," she says. "That's just not an option. I can't say that nothing else will ever go wrong, but I'm pretty solid in knowing he's digusted by [what he did]. And I wouldn't have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility."
Do you think Rihanna did a good job explaining herself?
