Justin Bieber came up with zilch from this year’s Grammy nominations, but his homeland isn’t about to treat him so poorly.
The Biebs will battle his fellow Canadians for Album of the Year (where he’s nominated against Carly Rae Jepsen and Celine Dion), Artist of the Year (with Deadmau5 and Carly again), and Pop Album of the Year (Carly again, and Nelly Furtado).
While many of the nominated artists aren’t too familiar to non-Canadians, there is an “International” Album of the Year category that this year is recognizing One Direction’s Up All Night, Maroon 5’s Overexposed, Taylor Swift’s Red, and 2013’s big Grammy winners Mumford & Sons’ Babel.

Carly actually bested Justin in overall nominations, getting five to his four. That should take the sting off of her own Grammys losses, considering she came home with nary a trophy for the monster single "Call Me Maybe." These two will also face off in the Juno Fan Choice Award with fellow nominees that include such diverse artists as Michael Buble, Nickelback, Metric, and Drake.
