Ariana Grande is not the little girl from Nickelodeon’s Victorious anymore. She’s about to turn into one of the biggest artists of 2013, thanks to her collaboration with MC Mac Miller on her single “The Way.”

The song became an instant hit when it was released last Tuesday, jumping to the top of the iTunes chart in less than 8 hours! Along with that impressive accomplishment, fans got #TheWay to become the number one trending topic on Twitter worldwide.

Now if you thought you already loved the song and its catchy urban-pop vibe, the newly released music video will take your obsession to a whole new level. Well, at least it did for us.

“The Way” is definitely a more mature sound for Ariana -– especially with lyrics like, “You a princess to the public, but a freak when it’s time” -– but she refuses to let it be labeled as the “grown-up Ariana.”

"I'm just trying to grow up and live my life and entertain people as well," Ariana told Billboard. "I don't think there needs to be any big landmark of 'Ariana grew up' -- although I do kiss Mac Miller in my video, so that's quite a statement!"

While working on her debut Republic Records album, Ariana is also reprising her Victorious character of Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon spin-off Sam & Cat. Going from more adult music to acting for a young audience isn’t something the 19-year-old is too worried about.

"When I do Sam & Cat, and when I act as Cat, of course I'm still going to be there for my younger fans," she said. "But I'm also growing up -- I'm almost 20. I'm not going to do anything crazy, but I want to do music that I'm passionate about. I'm finally at an age where I can do the music that I grew up loving, which was urban pop, '90s music. I grew up listening to the divas, so I'm very happy to finally do urban pop. I hope that it's received well, and it has been so far."
