Hearts melted across America on Monday night as The Bachelor Sean Lowe got down on one knee and proposed to his last standing lady Catherine Giudici.

But of course, with a sappy proposal also comes a tearful goodbye, which is the fate Sean's runner-up Lindsay Yenter faced just beforehand. Unfortunately, Sean couldn't quite get out the words to tell Lindsay why he was rejecting her, either on the pre-taped finale or the live After The Final Rose special.

Look, Sean, we understand you didn't want to hurt the girl's feelings, but because we don't have that same deep connection with Lindsay, we don't really mind! So, we've rounded up the reasons Sean really chose Catherine, to hopefully give Lindsay some closure.

1. They talked instead of just making out: Lindsay, sweetie, if you're going to spend the rest of your life with someone, you have to be able to fill in conversation lulls with words and not just kisses. Catherine's conversations with Sean were so much more than "Oh my gosh!," "This is amazing!," *kiss, kiss, kiss,* which is all he seemed to ever get out of Lindsay. If it was completely obvious to the viewer how much more natural Sean felt with Catherine, it must've been even more obvious to him.

2. She was more natural with his mom: As Monday night's episode shows, Sean is clearly a mama's boy! While Sean's dad seemed to warm up to both girls, there just wasn't that same vibe from Mama Lowe when she was getting to know Lindsay. Again, the conversation just seemed so... forced... between Lindsay and Sean's mom. Although it was made clear on camera that the family loved both ladies (of course, because why make his decision easier, right?), Sean's mother definitely seemed to form a fonder and more genuine relationship with Catherine, and it seems that Sean takes his mom's advice very seriously.

3. She's willing to drop everything for him: While Lindsay is super close with her family, as any true Southern belle would be, Catherine doesn't necessarily have the deep connection and desire to stick around Seattle with her mom and sisters. In fact, she seemed more excited about joining Sean's family than she did about going back to be with her own! Considering Sean is a major family man, he was clearly looking for someone who would move to Dallas, where he and his family reside, and of the two, Catherine is definitely the one who would do it with no questions asked.

Now that we know Sean is a contestant on Dancing With the Stars, we can also assume Catherine is moving with him to Los Angeles for the duration of the show, by Sean's reaction when Chris Harrison asked if the happy couple would be moving in together. "Well.... her bags are packed," Sean said cryptically, although he didn't specify what exactly they were packed for.

Now that the facts are set straight, let's go over some other important moments from the big three hour finale night...

The Infamous Letter: Since the very first episode of this season, we've seen clips of Sean at his final rose ceremony receiving a mysterious letter that looked like it could be a game-changer. Nope, just some final words from Catherine before her final moments with her man on the show. Man, what a buzzkill.

Okay, okay, Catherine and Sean had their little "thing" where they passed cute funny notes to each other all season long, so this was Catherine's way of making one last valiant effort to show she can actually be serious and not just "goofy." But how awkward would it've been if Sean didn't pick her after reading that note? We'll never know!

Sean's Proposal: Some tears were definitely shed when Sean let Catherine know she was his pick! "I think the world of you and I miss you every time we have to say goodbye," he told her. "I don't want to say goodbye anymore. Catherine, I want to spend the rest of my life telling you I love you and making you feel like the most special, beautiful woman in the world."

Following this, The Bachelor got down on on knee and proposed with a gorgeous 3 carat Neil Lane ring. Oh, did I mention that Neil just happened to conveniently be in Thailand to give Sean engagement ring choices? Casual...

Their Future: It was pretty amazing to see Sean and Catherine reunite for the first time (in public, at least) on live television during After the Final Rose. The couple announced that they're still together and are planning a wedding for the not-so-distant future, although they don't have a date set yet. In true Bachelor fashion, they've also agreed to televise the wedding.

Okay, is it just me, or is Sean really trying to eat up his 15 minutes of fame here?

The next Bachelorette: After all the excitement of Sean's proposal died down, we got the news that fan favorite contestant Desiree Harsock will be the next Bachelorette on the season that will air this summer. Des continued to win us over by wishing Sean and Catherine the best and sharing her happiness for them, while revealing that she still definitely believes she can find her own love on the show.

Okay, so not to brag or anything, but we totally called all of this.

What do you think about Sean choosing Catherine? What about Des as the next Bachelorette?
