Will the glass slipper fit Emma Watson?
That’s the big question, with news of the former Harry Potter star eyeing the role of Cinderella in a big-screen update. If they can remake Snow White with Kristen Stewart, why not Cinderella?
While it’s not a done deal just yet, Variety reports that Emma is in the very early talks with Disney to play the princess in a film directed by Kenneth Branagh, with Simon Kinberg as a producer. And who will play her evil stepmother? None other Cate Blanchett!

Other names were thrown around to put on that ball gown and glass slipper, such as Gabriella Wilde, Imogen Poots and Alicia Vikander, but nothing would fall into place due to scheduling issues. Cue Emma Watson! (Who we think is the best choice anyway!)
Emma has been doing just fine after finishing her last chapter in the Harry Potter franchise, receiving major praise for her role as Sam in The Perks of Being a Wallflower. She’s already a magnet for box office success, but fairy tale redos seem to be the thing these days. Kristen Stewart and Lily Collins both put their own spin on Snow White, while Angelina Jolie is set to star in Maleficent, the story of Sleeping Beauty’s villain.
