Only the doctors and nurses at an LA hospital have been able to smell what The Rock is cookin' this week.
Dwayne Johnson is now recovering at home after undergoing emergency surgery earlier this week that forced him to miss the L.A. premiere of his latest film Pain & Gain. The Rock sustained severe injuries earlier this month in a one-off pro wrestling return against John Cena at Wrestlemania.
"Surgery a success! Dr repaired 3 hernial tears (fun pain). Superman is on the mend.. #WeFallWeRise," he tweeted two days ago. After the surgery, Dwayne tweeted this badass photo of himself from the hospital bed.
Dwayne revealed after his Wrestlemania match that he tore his abdomen and abductor muscles off the bone. (Ouch!) He somehow managed to walk around like that for a couple of weeks, but confirmed this past weekend that he would be having the necessary surgery. "[My doctor will] push my intestines back thru the tear in my abdomen. Kinda romantic," he tweeted.
Dwayne has no plans to suit up in the squared circle as The Rock for the foreseeable future, which is a relief to Pain & Gain director Michael Bay. Michael apologized to the press for his star not making it to the premiere and told reporters that, "[He] needs to grow up and stop wrestling 300 pound men."
Pain & Gain, also starring Mark Wahlberg, features Dwayne as a workout-obsessed bodybuilder. The movie opens nationwide tomorrow.
