Would Holocaust victim Anne Frank have been a Belieber?
That's a question no one has ever pondered — ever — until now, but Justin Bieber sure hopes so. During a brief stopover in Amsterdam on his European tour, the singer decided to take in some Dutch culture (that didn't involved getting baked at a coffee shop) and visited the historic Anne Frank House. At the end of his visit, he wrote this gem in the guest book: “Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber.”
Lest you think this is National Enquirer gossip, both his visit and the note were confirmed by the Anne Frank House Facebook page, which only staff members have access to.

Naturally, the internet collectively exploded within seconds of the news. More than 1,300 people responded to the post from the Anne Frank House, calling him everything from "vile" to a "shallow doofus." And of course, the Twittersphere also had plenty to say about this.
And those were the nice tweets!
Museum spokeswoman Maatje Mostart tried to defend Biebs last night and made it clear that the staff appreciated his visit. “He’s 19. It’s a crazy life he’s living, he didn’t mean bad… and also it’s nice that he made the effort, he didn’t have to come,” she wrote.
Unfortunately, we doubt that Anne Frank would have been a Belieber. Given that she lived in Europe, it would make more sense for her to be a Directioner. And since she obviously kept a diary and wrote about everything, she would probably have more in common with Taylor Swift. But who knows? Maybe she would have been a Juggalo.
In a stunning lack of sensitivity and self-awareness, Justin responded to the backlash by posting two shirtless photos of himself on Instagram. "Breaking news @justinbieber just posted 2 shirtless pictures he must be going crazy -funny people #forthefansanyways #dontbecreepin," he wrote.
Here today, Vanilla Ice tomorrow...
