Most people would take being likened to a sexually transmitted disease with some offense. But not Psy! The unlikely megastar took some heat from Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong regarding his latest single “Gentleman.”
"This dude is the herpes of music. Once you think it's gone, it comes back. #herpes #flareup #pleasegoaway," the recently rehabbed rocker posted on Instagram. And while you might think that would start some sort of celebrity feud in which the South Korean likens Green Day to gonorrhea, Psy’s response was actually much more unexpected than that.

"I kinda like it, it's cool," Psy responded in a video interview. "He said I'm like the herpes... that keeps coming back. I think it's really cool. Thank you."
Wow. That’s pretty much the first time “herpes” and “thank you” have ever been used together. Maybe Psy went to the Britney Spears School of Inappropriate Responses?
This begs the question, does Psy know what herpes is? Or is he just responding to what might sound like a compliment if you didn’t know herpes is a chronic viral disase that causes unsightly sores? Some things that keep coming back are good, after all. Maybe Psy thinks herpes is more like a bottomless mimosa?
Either way, he handled it like a true “Gentleman.”
Do you think Billie Joe was out of line in calling Psy "herpes"?
And do you think Psy knew what he was talking about?
