Are we about to see the most unlikely pairing in television history?

Diddy tweeted yesterday that he would be joining the cast of Downton Abbey next season, which comes as a major surprise because... well, there aren't exactly a lot of black people in that community, are there?

"MY BIG NEWS. So happy to announce that I'm a series regular on Downton Abbey – my favorite show + I'll be debuting a sneak peek tonight 12am PST!" he tweeted.

However, anyone expecting a sudden increase in Ciroc being served to a disapproving countess was sorely disappointed when PBS, the show's U.S. co-producer, called B.S. on Diddy's claims. Spokesperson Carrie Johnson simply said "It's not true" when asked if Diddy would be coming on the show next season.

It turns out Diddy was half-right. He did join the cast of Downton Abbey, but it was for a video on Funny Or Die. Outing himself as an "Abbeyhead," he declared that he was thrilled to be a part of "Downtown Abbey... Downton Abbey... Whatever the f*ck it's called."

Unfortunately, the Downtown/Downton line was repeated ad nauseum for the next few minutes. And apart from asking Isobel Crawley and Dowager Countess to open-mouth kiss, his numerous other attempts at humor that fell flat. If the video isn't funny, does that mean Diddy actually has to die?

And of course, no Diddy moment would be complete without some shameless self-promotion thrown in there...

Yep, it took all of three minutes for Diddy to get a Ciroc plug in there. We're not surprised. At all.
