Not many people are giving a lot of thought to Ashlee Simpson these days, but the same can't be said for Fall Out Boy frontman Pete Wentz.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Pete revealed that he only recently snapped out of a prescription medication addiction that stemmed from his 2011 divorce to the pop star. He had used the prescription drugs Xanax and Klonopin during the band's mid-2000s heyday, but said his addiction became out of control after the split.

Pete said he curtailed his drug use after Ashlee gave birth to their only child in 2008, a boy named Bronx. However, Fall Out Boy's 2009 hiatus led him to him resume his drug habit and the subsequent divorce led to bouts of paranoia.

"I was probably physically and mentally addicted. It started from insomnia and anxiety from flying, then it spiraled," he said. "I felt like a loser already. I'd basically gone from being the guy in Fall Out Boy to being the guy who, like, hangs out all day. I didn't see how I'd ever come out on the other side."

Although he never entered into drug treatment, Wentz credited therapy and the desire to be a good father with helping him beat his addictions. "You're up in the morning and you really have to be there. It's not like getting up for a radio interview. In some ways, that was super helpful for my soul," he said.

It seems that things are finally on the up-and-up for Pete. Fall Out Boy reunited last fall and released their latest album last month, Save Rock and Roll, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200. He's also the current host of Oxygen's tattoo competition show Best Ink for its second season which debuted last month.

Either way, it's more than can be said for Ashlee at this stage: Apart from previewing a horrible single last October, she hasn't done anything since her stint on Melrose Place ended in 2010.
