The state of Georgia has officially redneck-ognized the marriage of Honey Boo Boo's Mama June!
Mama June (real name: June Shannon) was wed over the weekend in a redneck-style backyard wedding to her boyfriend of nine years Sugar Bear (real name: Mike Thompson). Naturally, the ceremony was filmed by TLC and will be part of the (gulp!) second season of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.
In true redneck fashion, Mama June wore a highly unflattering camouflage dress for her big day. Isn't she employed by a network that airs shows like Say Yes To The Dress? They couldn't have helped her out at all?!
"The day was very special mostly because my girls were able to take part in it. I felt like it was important for them to see this moment and celebrate my love for Sugar Bear," she said.
Honey Boo Boo managed to play second fiddle for the big day, but still stood out in a comically poofy peach and pink gown (tiara not included).
Hell, they even got the dog dressed up in some crazy gear...
Mama June said she wanted to have a low-key, unexpensive ceremony that remained true to what their family stands for. Her sister baked the cake and relatives pitched in for a family barbecue after the ceremony. The only extravagant part of the ceremony was a small carnival for the after party, complete with a large inflatable slide.
And of course, their "Just Married" sign came on the back of a freakin' tractor...
The next few months are shaping up to be big ones for the Honey Boo Boo clan. Season Two of their show will premiere this summer, while Mama June is getting set to release a book this July entitled How to Honey Boo Boo: The Complete Guide on How to Redneckognize the Honey Boo Boo in You. (Why anybody would want to do this is a completely separate issue.) She's also planning on releasing a cookbook at the end of the year.
Meanwhile, Honey Boo Boo seems to have a fan in Donald Trump. Last month, she was crowned Miss Trump Hotel New York 2013.
