All of us 90s kids rejoice – the Boy Meets World spin-off Girl Meets World has officially been given the green light and will debut on The Disney Channel in 2014!
Sure, that seems like an entirety since we’ve been waiting almost a decade for our favorite Matthews family to return to our lives. But good things come to those who wait, right?

The first season of Girl Meets World will start shooting this summer so obviously we can expect plenty of Instagram and Twitter pictures for our viewing enjoyment since the cast has been feeding those reunions since the news of the spin-off hit the web. The show will be set in New York City and will feature Danielle Fishel and Ben Savage reprising their roles as Topanga and Cory Matthews raising their teenage daughter Riley, played by Rowan Blanchard.
Riley and her best friend Maya, played by Sabrina Carpenter are junior high students who get the surprise that Cory will be their new history teacher -- further Mr. Feeny perhaps? Along with that, Topanga owns the after-school hangout spot, so it seems like Riley just can’t escape her parents at all.
No word on other stars, like Rider Strong as Shawn or Will Friedle as Eric but the two have visited the set when the pilot was being filmed. Fingers crossed for at least a guest spot here and there!
Are you stoked about Girl Meets World and do you think it will even compare to the original?
