Today, the Supreme Court ruled that DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) was unconstitutional and dismissed Prop 8 – making same-sex marriage legal in the state of California. Dax and Kristen have always been vocal about their support of marriage equality and even said that they would not get married until it was legal for everyone else.

So when this historic moment happened, we saw the cutest tweet in the history of tweets – and we’re not exaggerating. Kristen tweeted, “.@daxshepard1 will you marry me? Xo #marriageequality #loveislove.” Dax responded, “DOMA is dead. Prop 8 is dead. Now let’s bring my big, gay marriage to @IMKristenBell to Life!!!!” Looks like he said yes!
The engaged couple, who welcomed their daughter Lincoln back in March, have explained in the past why they are taking a stand on marriage equality and putting their rush to the alter on hold. “The reason we’re not rushing to get married is because I don’t feel appropriate taking advantage of a right that’s denied to my [gay and lesbian] friends. That’s why we’ve been so hesitant,” Kristen explained last year. “Dax and I have talked about it a lot, and this issue is very important to both of us. We’re just standing up for what we believe in. Period.”
Congratulations to Kristen and Dax. And congratulations to every one! #LoveIsLove.
