From Magic Mike star to Magic Mike director?
The idea of a Magic Mike sequel has been floating around Hollywood pretty much ever since we all laid our eager eyes on the first one. And with Channing Tatum confirming our wishes by revealing a plan for Magic Mike 2 and possibly even a musical (yeah, seriously), all our dreams could be coming true.

During a interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Channing went back to idea of MM2 and revealed that he could be stepping behind the camera for this one, replacing original director Steven Soderbergh. “That’s sort of where we are at – either [my producing partner] Reid Carolin and I will direct it together, or we’ll have Greg Jacobs direct… right now, we’re just trying to clean up the story, and then we’ll make a decision.”
Speaking off the story, Channing gives us the idea that the film won’t be so dramatic as the first one. “It will be a road-trip movie, and it will essentially be the movie that everyone thought the first one was going to be: crazy and fun and less slice-of-life and less drama,” he said. “The first one, we had to make not so cheesy and campy; this one we are going to swing for the fences.”
So can you guys start swinging, like, now? We need that sequel!
