James Gandolfini has died of an apparent heart attack in Italy. He was 51.
James was in Italy for the 59th Taormina Film Festival in Sicily, where he was planning on participating in a variety of events at the fest. He is survived by his wife and two children.
The actor cemented his icon status after playing mob boss Tony Soprano in the The Sopranos. Gandolfini also had memorable roles in Zero Dark Thirty, True Romance and Get Shorty, to name a few.
There aren't many further details at this point. But what we do know is that we have lost a truly great actor -- and far too soon. Until we know more, let's take a look back at James' final scene from The Sopranos.
We'll miss you, James.
