Just one day after Glee star Cory Monteith’s autopsy, the Coroners Service of British Columbia have determined that the cause of death was something he had been struggling with for years.

The autopsy and toxicity screening proved that Cory died from drug toxicity, including heroin and alcohol. The full autopsy report will be released in the coming weeks.

Cory’s body was found in a Vancouver hotel last Saturday by hotel staff after missing his scheduled check out time. It’s being reported that he was last seen on the hotel surveillance camera arriving back at his hotel room in the early morning hours on Saturday after a night out with friends. He was 31.

Cory has been open about his struggles with substance abuse in the past, completing his second time in rehab last April.
