Picture this: you’re Shailene Woodley, you’ve been asked to sign on for the lead role in the upcoming young adult series turned film franchise and you’re not sure whether you’re ready for the exposure that comes along with it. What do you do? Mind you, the film, Divergent, is already being labeled the next Hunger Games. So, who do you call for advice on whether to take on the project or not? Um, Jennifer Lawrence, duh!

During last week’s Comic Con, Shailene revealed that before signing on for the role in Divergent, she had to the pick the brain of America’s most loved woman – a.k.a. Jennifer – and find out whether taking on just an admired role and all the media attention to follow was worth it.

“I asked her how Hunger Games sort of affected her life, and the loss of anonymity that sort of came with that," Shailene said. "Being someone who was in Winter's Bone and had this amazing career beforehand, was she happy with it?"

Since Jennifer is the most real and very sarcastic actress in Hollywood, she had to be 100 percent honest. "She gave me really beautiful advice and said that I should definitely take it," Shailene said. "[She said] it will be the best thing that ever happened. But don't be an idiot, do a sex tape, or do drugs. And go to Whole Foods when your movie opens."

We have a feeling that even though Shailene’s life and career will probably change dramatically once Divergent hits theaters next year, she won’t turn into some snobby, too good for anyone actress.

She stopped by The Daily Show and revealed that her solid book of BFF’s won’t let that happen. “Lucky for me, I have enough friends who would make me black and blue before I became an a—hole. And they have full permission to [take me down]… Anyone has full permission to – if I become an a—hole.” Yeahhh maybe you shouldn’t say that on live TV, Shailene.

Do you think Shailene will be as big as Jennifer or Kristen Stewart after Divergent?
