Kicking off the trip, they took the Today stage for 18,000 Directioners – the shows biggest crowd to date! As epic as that was, the fellas went straight to their next gig, walking the carpet and taking their seats for the MTV VMAs.
Taking home the VMA for “Song of the Summer” for “Best Song Ever,” #ProudDirectioners was quickly trending on Twitter, despite the fact that the Brooklyn crowd actually booed 1D for their win. Say what?! Even Lady Gaga was stunned at the reaction, quickly heading backstage to boost their spirits, telling them, “I want to leave right now. I don’t want to stay anymore because I don’t want to be in a room where people are booing. I just want to tell you that you deserve every bit of success that you have.” Awe!
Wrapping up their trip, they headed to the U.S. premiere of This Is Us, hitting theaters on Friday! How crazy that it’s already here?
