Anyone and everyone can’t stop talking about Miley Cyrus – yes, us included. And now Sinead O’Connor is jumping on this twerking bandwagon by penning an open letter to the star, giving us a piece of advice. Back story to this is during Miley’s Rolling Stone interview, she said the inspiration behind her “Wrecking Ball” music video was Sinead’s classic “Nothing Compares 2 U.” After, Sinead says her was getting phone after phone call from the media, asking her opinion on Miley and her comments.

Instead of giving a sound bit to a media outlet, Sinead wrote a letter to Miley, as a “extremely concerned” mother that included quotes like, “The music business doesn’t give a s—t about you, or any of us. They will prostitute you for all you are worth, and cleverly make you think its what YOU wanted.”

Another quotes was, “You have enough talent that you don’t need to let the music business make a prostitute of you. You shouldn’t let them make a fool of you either. Don’t think for a moment that any of them giving a flying f—k about you. They’re there for the money… we’re there for the music.”

While Sinead may have thought she was just trying to give Miley some helpful advice since she’s been in the business for a while, the 20-year-old didn’t exactly take it very well. She jumped on Twitter to write, “Before Amanda Bynes… There was…” and included a screen shot of a series of tweets that Sinead wrote last year that revolved around her mental health. Low blow, Miley. Low blow.

Look, we get that Miley didn’t like the advice that Sinead gave her and yes, maybe she was wrong with some of the points she made since we believe that Miley is the one who makes all the decisions about how she’s portrayed, what she does, etc. But to A. poke fun at her mental health issues and B. poke fun at another star suffering from mental health problems and is currently getting help for it is just in poor taste.
