Lorde received quite the backlash for her recent comments involving Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez, calling Taylor too flawless and hating the theme behind Selena’s hit single “Come and Get It.” Since the 16-year-old singer considered herself a feminist, she had some pretty strong feelings as to how women are portrayed in the media and how young fans of Taylor and Selena will never feel as “pretty” as them.
While may have back pedaled and explained what she meant, Selena is speaking out about Lorde’s harsh comments.

Speaking to Hot 99.5 about Lorde’s comments, Selena had this to say: “I think she is super talented and I think it's awesome. But I think at the same time that feminism and that specific thing is very sensitive because in my opinion it's not feminism if you're tearing down another artist. So that's the only thing that I feel but you know, she's young, she's got so much talent, she's gonna take over, she gets it, so I don't take it to heart.”
While Selena may not take it to heart, she obviously did feel something! During her Stars Dance tour, she’s been covering Lorde’s smash hit “Royals” – that is until now. She’s now removed the song from her set list and replaced it with Katy Perry’s “Roar!” Ouch! Sure, it’s probably a harmless change and SelGo probably wanted to switch things up a bit, but funny timing, right?
And funny enough, Lorde recently gave her opinion of Selena’s cover of her song and had nothing but good things to say! “I thought it was cool. I liked the wind machine. And she did something interesting with the chords,” she said.
